The major problems of our time: uncertainty as to the very aims of our societies and the meaning of life, cultural révolution - that is, the need to lay new plans for
civilization - the strife against a capitalist system which leads to the
disintegration of man and to the destruction of his environment, the
conception of a new model of socialism to prépare a more human future,
are all problems which the anger and hopes of youth
throughout the world compel us to confront today.
Reflections on socialism and culture should therefore be founded on a clear view of what youth refuses and what it hopes for.
